Nearly 400 Austin students, representing 11 high school marching bands, will perform at the 36th Annual AISD Marching Band Jamboree on Tuesday, September 9, at 7 p.m., at Toney Burger Stadium, located at
3200 Jones Road.

PARENTS URGED TO ATTEND SES PROVIDER FAIR SATURDAY
September 4, 2008
Austin School District officials are urging parents to attend a provider fair that will showcase the Supplemental Education Services (SES) that area vendors are offering students who attend schools that did not meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) under the No Child Left Behind Law. The fair will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, September 6, at Reagan High School, located at 7104 Berkman Drive.

Former Austin Mayor Announces Tutoring Incentive Plan for Eastside Memorial High School at the Johnston Campus

AUSTIN—Former Austin Mayor Bruce Todd announced today an innovative plan designed to improve the academic performance of students at Eastside Memorial High School at the Johnston Campus. The privately funded Tutoring Incentive Program (TIP) includes $375,000 to cover student achievement incentives for attending tutoring sessions and funding for tutors within the Austin Independent School District, the Austin Community College District, Kaplan Tutorial Services and area colleges.
