April 4, 2008 - “Leadership in the World of Work” is the theme for the next Hispanic Futures Conference beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Anderson High School, located at 8403 Mesa Drive. The conference is designed to connect workforce skill and future job needs to rigorous academic preparation. The session will conclude at 1:00 p.m.
This conference is the transition conference in the Hispanic Futures Conference series and builds on the first two conferences. This conference will present career fields that are projected to become high growth areas in Texas by the year 2015. Professionals from these career clusters will discuss their careers and the future market demands in their career fields.

Hispanic students from all Austin School District high schools and middle schools and their parents are encouraged to attend to understand what their students might face in Texas by 2015. The conference will also provide information on which institutions of higher learning can provide specialized training and preparation.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. For more information and to confirm attendance, please call Mike Perez at 414-0364.
