March 31, 2008 - Officials of the Austin School District and Austin Community College will dedicate the new Automotive Technology Center at Crockett High School on Tuesday, April 1, at 12:30 p.m. The school is located at 5601 Manchaca Road in South Austin.

The Automotive Technology Center will prepare students for high wage, high demand technology careers within the automotive profession. It provides access to affordable higher education leading to college degrees and technical certifications required to obtain entry-level careers in this high-growth industry. Opportunities available to students include internships at local automotive facilities; preparation for ASE certification; and obtaining credit from Austin Community College.
