XIV. Board Member Visits to a School Campus
- Board members who wish to visit a campus to view a program or activity in their
official capacity shall coordinate their visit with the principal, who shall notify
the associate superintendent.
- Board members who wish to visit a campus in any capacity other than their official
capacity shall do so in accordance with District Policy GKC (LOCAL), which states that
visits to individual classrooms during instructional time shall be permitted only with
the principal's and teacher's approval, and such visits shall not be permitted if their
duration or frequency interferes with the delivery of instruction or disrupts the normal
school environment.
- Board members may be invited to attend public events, receptions, groundbreakings,
dedications, ribbon cuttings, and other campus events.
